April tag swap - embossed card

The challenge for the April tag swap at first seemed an impossible one for me to do - use embossed card said Jill (a.k.a lemonblossom).
All well and good, but I don't possess a Big Shot or anything similar that crafters use to emboss cards and papers.
Luckily Jill came to the rescue and popped some pieces of embossed card in the post to me and so I was able to take part this month after all.

I'd had a starter pack of Faber - Castell gelatos for ages and not really used them properly so spent some time watching tutorials on YouTube before deciding to go for it and get messy.

It took me a while to feel comfortable mixing and spraying, rubbing and dripping but finally had four tags that I was quite satisfied with.

clocks

hearts, flowers & stars

wisdom

Although we usually only swap 3 tags I'm going to send all 4 to Jill as I think she deserves to chose one of them to keep (if she likes them that is!) before putting the remaining 3 into the swap.

Chinese Whisper Circle Journal Round 7.

This round was started by Lou, who chose this page as her inspiration.

Lou's scraplift, which she sent to me.

Mine went off to Cynthia.

Cynthia sent hers to Ally.

Ally sent this cute LO of Miss D to Alison

and Alison sent this lovely Christmassy page on to Lynn.

Lynn sent to Chrissie

and Sheila finished off the round with the page below.

Chinese Whisper Circle Journal Round 6

Here are the next set of LO's from our Circle Journal,

this time inspired by this page that Elaine chose for us to scraplift.

Elaine's take on the page stayed very true

and she sent it on to Tracy

Frances received it and went to the Carnivale

before sending on to Sandra

Sandra sent to Lou
who said Konnichiwa from Japan.

Lou sent hers to me

and I went mad with potato printing - Kalimera, Cynthia.

Cynthia's page featured her MIL Joyce

And Ally finished the round with this sweet baby LO,

enough to make anyone's heart sing.

Chinese Whisper Circle Journal Round 5

Time to reveal the layouts that I've been most looking forward to, the ones inspired by my choice!

My inspiration was this layout from Jan a member of the Archiscraps Design Team

which I was also a part of last year.

I stuck pretty close to Jan's original page but

changed some of the elements before sending on to Cynthia.

Cynthia sent hers to Ally.

It's a gorgeous LO of little Miss but nothing like the original.

This one went rogue very quickly!

This is Alison's interpretation of Ally's page

which went on it's way to Lynn.

Lynn's page was sent to Chrissie

Chrissie sent this pretty pink page to Sheila

Sheila kept the pink palette, flowers, doily and large alphas

then sent it on to Karen.

This is Karen's lovely page which looks nothing like the

LO I chose last July but hey ho!

Chinese Whisper Circle Journal - Round 4

This time it was Fran's turn to choose a LO to inspire the round.

and this is her take on the above page.

She sent this one on to Elaine.

who sent hers to Tracy.

Tracy kept very much to the look of Elaine's page.

Frances too has kept the corners and photo placement,

pretty much on track with the original.

Sandra changed the look of the corners

and went landscape not portrait with her photo

before she sent on to Lou.

By the time it got to Lou, those corners were history!

Pennants and butterflies were introduced, still landscape though.

which I repeated in my lift of Lou's page.

Cynthia re-introduced some corner decorations,

 this time flowers not squares

 and used a portrait photo.

I think this one stayed true to the original a lot longer than some of the previous rounds,

Do you agree?

Chinese Whisper Circle Journal - Round 3

Round 3 of our Chinese Whisper Circle Journal kicked off with this LO

that Chrissie picked to inspire her.

This is Chrissie's scraplift of it which she sent Sheila.

Sheila's take on the LO went to Karen.

Karen's LO went to Fran.

(sorry, Fran, couldn't flip it around!)

Luckily Elaine turned things around with this great Christmas themed LO

which she sent on to Tracy.

Another Christmassy page, this one went to

Frances who went with the same theme.

Sandra chose rugby as the subject of her LO.

I wish I could read the journaling because I'd love to know the backstory to this page!
